Our country’s greatest need is that men would come to Christ. But how do we help that happen? In this session Rico Tice, one of the UK’s foremost evangelists, explores that question with us. He’ll be especially focusing on the value of ‘reading the bible one-to-one’.
Thursday, 3 November 2016
It’s one of the key questions of our time. With society writing off the bible as a matter of ‘interpretation’, a book that can be made to say anything, how do we respond? Has postmodernity had the last laugh, or does the bible carry a consistent message that can be found through correct interpretation? Is such a thing even possible? These are some of the questions we’ll be addressing with David Jackman at BURNING MAN. This is one session not to miss… David Jackman is one of the UK’s leading Bible teachers and commentators. An International Conference speaker, he is the former President of the Proclamation Trust and author of numerous books and commentaries.

Why is the Bible all we need to understand God and His will for our lives? What does it mean to say the Bible is ‘sufficient’? That’s what we’ll be addressing this Thursday morning, as Revd Jonathan Fletcher speaks to us.
Thursday, 6 October 2016
Why should we listen to the Bible? What authority does it have to speak to us today..? That’s what we’ll be addressing as Revd Mark O’Donoghue comes to speak to us.

Join us to hear Revd Dr. Michael Lloyd speak about 'the problem of evil'. Mike is Principal of Wycliffe Hall in Oxford, and did his doctorate on evil. He's the world's leading expert on evil (well, one of them...!) Mike is both enormously bright and hugely entertaining, so it promises to be an excellent time together.

We were delighted to have Rico Tice with us again at BURNING MAN. He continued our series on 'Promises and warning to keep us'. Rico is the Senior Minister for evangelism at All Souls Langham Place, having joined in the latter years of John Stott’s ministry there. He is also author and pioneer of ‘Christianity Explored’, an introductory course to the Christian faith that has over 10,000 courses running in 90 countries around the world. Speaking personally, he is quite simply one of the most compelling preachers in the world today. It is an honour to have him with us. Don’t miss out!

Revd Paul Cowley MBE spoke to us on the power of HOPE from Matthew 25, the Sheep and the Goats. Paul founded Caring for Ex-Offenders in answer to the need for The Church to support ex-offenders on release from prison and equip them to reintegrate into society. Paul served in the army for 17 years before becoming an ordained minister in the Church of England. He has 20 years’ experience of working with people inside and outside prison, and with socially excluded and vulnerable adults. Paul has recently been appointed Bishop’s Advisor to Prisons and in 2015, was awarded the MBE from Her Majesty the Queen in the Recent Honours list for services to ex-offenders.

Want to see your friends come to Christ? They’ll need to hear the Gospel, and that usually requires an invitation… Burning Man is hosted an evangelistic gathering at St. Michael’s Chester Square. The Revd Roger Simpson spoke on ‘A Spiritual MOT’. Roger is the Evangelist for the Diocese of York and a hugely inspiring speaker. This is a great opportunity to invite colleagues, friends, family to come and hear a clear and powerful presentation of the Gospel.

People need to hear the Gospel. How do you make the most of opportunities to speak about Jesus in a world that doesn’t want to know…? This is just the question David Jackman will be exploring with us at Burning Man. He’ll be looking at ‘Paul and the Greek Philosophers in Athens’ in Acts 17:16-34, and how Paul brilliantly and skilfully shapes an opportunity to proclaim the Gospel. If ever we needed such skills, it’s today! David Jackman is the former President of ‘The Proclamation Trust’ and author of a number of books as well as International speaker and Bible Teacher. There are few better exponents of how to open up the scriptures and let God speak through His Word. If you want to know how to read the bible better for yourself, David will model this superbly.

Revd Rupert Standring (St. Peters Fulham) will be with us, looking at the opportunistic evangelism of Phillip with the Ethiopian eunuch.

We live in a world that’s indifferent and even hostile towards Christianity. In such an age, how can we be men who take a stand and speak courageously for Jesus Christ? This term we are looking at 'Defending the faith', exploring occasions in scripture when men were either forced to take a stand or chose to take an opportunity to speak of Christ and faith. Our term gets off to a thunderous start as Stephen Foster takes us through Elijah's fiery stand off with the prophets of Baal. Stephen Foster is a former criminal barrister and is now a Curate at Holy Trinity Brompton.
